Using Firefox or Iceweasel from version 3.6 of Debian Squeeze until the recent experimental version present in 10, without having to install moonlight and occupying the minimum of resources.

K3B and whims with normalize-audio in Squeeze

Periodically, about every 6 months I prepare a new mix CD to put in your car, this is the premise to the foul deed.

I found myself with a squeeze for a few days of release as stable with a bug as old as Moses, already on the brown distro (pupùntu?) away from the 2006 and fortunately already solved.

normalize-audio was not recognized as installed K3B for some months, in fact the report is September 2010 .

The solution remained the same.

get ready to sabotage K3B.

Install Java in Debian Squeeze

Following some problems on a web application that I use, I had the patience to arm and activate the hated (by me) java plugin for browsers that I use:

• Iceweasel (currently) 03/06/13
• Opera 11.1156

I must admit that the installation is simple, but in walking distance are many hidden dangers, and that is why I am writing this article as a reminder.

Hoping to be helpful to some unfortunate like me, we begin with the installation.

Dropbox 1.0.10 KDE4 in Debian Squeeze

It 'a new version of Dropbox that promises less RAM consumption.

Installation is simple, you must copy the folder. Dropbox-dist in our / home / user /.

If there was already an old installation for security move it elsewhere.

If it is a new installation run the command:

  ~ / .dropbox-dist/dropboxd

Google Earth 6.0.0 in Debian Squeeze

A few days ago appeared the package to update the version of googleearth.

googleearth-package Version: 0.6.1

This time the problenon were related to the installation, which instead is spun smooth, but the functioning of the same.
